The home page is where you should spend the most quality time working on crafting every word of your site that directly relates to your most ideal clients. Don’t expect your webmaster to create a website for you with marketing copy that drives clients to you like crazy; it’s just not going to happen.

Your website is only going to be as good as the content you provide. No matter how pretty or professional your website may appear or how much money you paid for it, it’s NOT going to be effective without great marketing copy.

Driving traffic to your website is only important after you have an effective website. If you are sending traffic to a bad site, no amount of traffic is going to help you get clients online. To develop great marketing copy that promotes your expertise effectively, you either need to be a great marketer yourself, or you need to hire a marketing expert who knows how to write great copy. It’s a team effort to get it just right. You must make sure your copy is written in such a way that it speaks directly to your target market and leads them to action;  touch viewers’ emotions, pain points, and offer real solutions within your text. Also make sure that the top one-third of your page (above the fold or screen shot) includes strong attention grabbing benefit messages. You want your viewers to quickly understand what you’re all about and what benefits you are offering them at first glance. Otherwise they will simply click away.

At the bottom of your home page create a good call to action statement to drive viewers to the next step – working with you. If you don’t ask for a call to action, no action will be taken.
